We had to say goodbye to Jerusalem this morning and head out on the Jericho road. This also included driving in and out of the west bank, our driver must be well known as we get waved through easily. Driving south we come by the caves where a young goat herder first came upon the dead sea scrolls. The caves up in those desert mountains eventually produced tens of thousands of scrolls.

Next is the spring at en gedi, where David could have killed Saul in a cave, but spared his life.

One of the earliest kibbutz was built here and is now also a botanical garden, with a view of the Dead Sea.

It's a paradise in the desert
