Tour day eight - Magdala

As we drive north along the west side of the lake we pass through beautiful Tiberius. Our first Bible stop is Magdala, home of Mary magdalena.

It is almost certain that Jesus came here because he casts out her demons and because directly across is this valley that goes straight to Nazareth.

They found here what is called the Magdala stone

It was in this synagogue which Jesus likely visited and taught in, here you see the tiny mosaic stones that decorated the walkways around the edge.

You can also see in the dwellings what was likely their baths. The water table is so high by the lake that these stone bottom rooms would fill up with water

And of course another church, which honors the women who followed Jesus with four columns
