Phinda game drive 6

Ah, the last game drive and then it is time to go from the jeep straight back on the short runway. Several of our group chose to sleep in since the weather is a bit misty and cool.
No, that's not our style, we are on a game reserve in south africa for goodness sakes.
We observed again zebra, giraffe, water buffalo and heard the crashing, branch breaking of a nearby hungry elephant. But mostly we slowed down to observe the details overlooked before. A good look at the lovely Malachite kingfisher,  demonstration of an elephant's teeth marks on a branch, close up hands on to those thorns I have been ducking for around every corner. Did you know you can put your cellphone on the eyepiece of the binoculars and capture video of the yellow birds nest building. The males create the nests with an entrance at the bottom. Then we watched a female approach and they all hang upside down their nest flapping madly to show off their construction project. She will choose the best one to lay her eggs. Fascinating in a different way today.
