Hello, Cape Town! Actually we are in Stellenbosch, a very strongly Dutch influenced area which is jaw-dropping in its mountain setting. It's the only place in the country that has a Mediterranean climate, hence the vineyards and olive groves.
Wine tasting is a given in this area, but I had never heard of olive oil tasting. You actually have to warm the cup of oil in your palm before trying it, which improves the way it absorbs in your mouth. So much I did not know about evoo, especially award winning oil from this extensive estate. Not to mention a garden that employs 20 gardeners and all the cool statues!
