Game drive 5

Safari drive 5 was so great,  full of surprises - First setting out in search of the herd of water buffalo that had been spotted, but happening upon a black rhino and her calf. She stomped a bit and took a few threatening steps in our direction which was pretty unnerving.
Next our game scout spots some crows circling over thick brush and he hops into the jeep with us. He is pretty sure they are right over a leopard who is probably feeding on a carcass. Sure enough he spots her while the rest of us look long and hard but without trained eyes she is very hard to see. After several more attempts to find her (following the tell tale crows) she rises up from under a bush right in front of us and saunters off. Our big 5 is complete!
We do finally locate the water buffalo herd and the sound of them moving through the grass with their giant bodies and crash helmet heads is incredible.
We end with the first rain of the season starting to fall and a lovely surprise bush dinner in a hidden location on the reserve. A-plus day!
