Today was so pleasant as we drove up to the beautiful Tianchi Lake on the opposite side of the big mountain range as yesterday. It was the first day we didn't totally sweat through our clothes, the first day to see China's stunning natural beauty, the first day to see another Caucasian since we got to far west China. (Not only do we turn heads but we occasionally get asked for a random photo with locals) On the way up the mountain we stopped at a little village of the Hazak people (Mongolean ethnicity) where we sampled their produce and I got my first camel ride, even if it was a bit touristy! Evening dinner was another hot pot experience, each with our own little fancy burner and pot, April finally convinced me to taste tripe!
