Tour day ten - surprise

All week long we heard about this picnic lunch coming up, how they had to move it because of weather and so on. So today was the day. As we are driving out to the south of the city, looking down on the valley where Samson gives in to Delilah, our guide mentions that they will have sandwiches, maybe pbj, and some blankets to sit on. Another lady and I say great, sounds good. And we would have been more than delighted to eat anything in this lovely weather with a beautiful view of South Jerusalem with rich history all around us.

And then we pull up in the middle of a forest to this. And not just a sandwich meal but a gourmet lunch on white linen. Overlooking all this beautiful area

It had not been the first time Lior had fooled us

On the very first day he stepped on our bus he stammered for a full three minutes or so pretending to have really poor English . As we are all looking very concerned, especially our Canadian tour hosts, he smiles big and says - ok guys I am just kidding let's begin our tour of the Holy Land - all in perfect English.

So now you know why this was such a magical meal, including this spunky mobile chef. We invited him to Oregon.
