Tour day three

It will be hard to describe this day, but I can tell you that I was close to tears more than once.
We began at Independence Hall where Israel declared statehood in the late forties. For me it's a big history lesson about something I knew little of. While I would still fail a pop quiz on this at least I might earn "most improved".
It was so moving to hear the whole story, building on what we learned earlier and to realize that against all odds, and at exactly the right hour, late enough to be just before the Brittish mandate ran out yet early enough to not fall into the Sabbath sundown, they bravely declared independence. Then we all stood for the reading of it and the state anthem.

The night before local carpenters conducted this long table and quickly hung the flag curtains. They were still writing and drafting their constitution just minutes before. It's quite a history lesson.

There more about today but time for dinner, I will stop for now.
