A How To Discussion

How do you get natural looking poses and faces when shooting an engaged couple? Here's an even harder question, how do you get natural looking poses and faces when shooting 2 engaged couples at the same time?

Well, you select a good background, good light, and make sure they are prepared and dressed for the session. You be sure to have your camera charged, your tripod handy and your reflecting board packed. You choose just the right exposure.

Then you pray it doesn't rain. Actually you do that before the event begins.

Check, check ... did all that.

But to get this gorgeous shot of everyone looking like it's fun to be engaged...

you need someone like my hubby.

He can crack the best groom-to-be jokes and poke fun of our married life together so that they think they still might want to go through with this thing. After all.

He also doesn't mind posing for light and background checks.

Even while discussing his upcoming fishing trip.

He realizes the importance of the situation we find ourselves in. This one is too dark honey, could you turn a little bit?

He's pretty much the awwesomest assistant ever!
