The View
I was so looking forward to the train ride home - traveling far away from roads or civilization. And even though it was overcast there were still some gorgeous views.
Sadly, my lens still has that annoying smudge, which I have to clean up on any photo where it shows. Didn't get around to it today however. It will take weeks to get it repaired. :(
The snow was fresh and heavy weight on everything in the mountains.
You had to be very quick to catch anything without blur as these cars move along pretty fast. That is until they hit the 1.08 percent downgrade. Then the cars float down the hills like you're on a cloud.
Pretty soon we start seeing more firs and we know we're over the crest. By the way, those cliffs in the distance are right over the highway we usually take through this pass.
At last the snow disappears almost completely and is replaced with slivers of fog. We're almost back in our home valley. So I was pretty happy with the images I captured, considering the glare of the glass and the obstacles in the way most of the time.
Last of all I realized this: the best views might be inside the rail car!
