Another beach shot

Just had to share this from my friend who teaches school up where the nights are taking over the daylight. I haven't seen her since we were in college but she posted this online from her village on the North slope. It is titled, "jawbones of a bowhead whale used to form an arch on the shores of the Arctic Ocean".

It is the northernmost point of our nation and in about 6 weeks the sun will set for the winter. It will not rise again until mid January. It's already below freezing most of the time and this month will be their heaviest snowfall! (check out the photo of a polar bear at their football field!)

Dark, but beautiful. And that is a long way from St. Louis.
