What are you?

Somewhere in the middle of our mad dash to the wedding last summer we unearthed some strange looking bulbs from the yard demo project. I don't remember any of this clearly but we must have planted them in one of the new flower beds.

And yesterday as I was playing fetch with the attack puppy I noticed something big, white and beautiful. Is it a lilly, an iris, an amaryllis? But it has 6 petals not 4?

Lucky for me a knowledgable plant friend dropped in last night and she called it right off the bat - a Siberian iris. Just one of these lovelies is as big as your hand. And in a vase with lavender roses - I'm in love!
