Brave Feat

I have lived more than half of my life under this tree. Planted flowers under it, hung Christmas lights on it and took photos in front of it. We're pretty connected actually, in a fear and respect kind of way. Because it is very tall with 3 massive trunks leaning towards my bedroom and the bedrooms of my babies. I've said more than few prayers over this towering giant. But it has remained firm to its end.
I'm not really a tree-hugger but I thank you, Mr. Birch.

Several of us gathered round and watched it come down, piece by piece with a thundering vibration dropping to the ground.

And how about this guy? Amazing and fearless to watch. He's the real tree hugger. Did you see how high he had to climb to limb that first trunk?

And there is my nursery house, safe and sound and with a whole new view. The family in this house even salvaged a 5 gallon bucket of my bulbs for me. I was busy back then!

I think I might cry next time I drive past that house. It just can't be the same without that big old tree there to greet me in the driveway.
