Strawberry Parade
It has been going on for over 100 years in our small town. The night before people bring out the lawn chairs, walkers and jump ropes and claim their territory on the parade route.
These friends of ours were trying to save enough space for their grandkids who were arriving soon, and trying to be nice about it. But they got many requests for the space.
We just came to watch the runners - our youngest should be coming along any minute.
There's her BFF on the right, a cross-country star leading the pack.
There's our BuFF friend, who has way more energy than us.
Oh, here come the boys we know, the girls can't be far behind now.
I see them!
Still running and almost half way, great job! We parked ourselves near the turn around spot,
So we could see them twice.
And before leaving I saw enough of the parade to catch their mission float. It was the beginning of some very bad sunburns on very white knees. After all the waiting for sunshine, it hurts SO good.
