Sorry about all the farm tales here this week, I promise to return to regularly scheduled programming after just this one more. What is regular anyway?
This past week we tried to adopt someone new. He's a little shy as is often the case with handsomeness. Meet Mr. Tux:

Just admire those whiskers with me for a moment. The are so striking and incredibly long. I think they must have some magical powers.
So after 3 days locked inside a building we decided to introduce him to the rest of the fam. We thought it was going quite well since he befriended Clover and Roca, our female cats. He even tolerated Luna, the terror puppy. Although he did spend a few hours quivering under our BBQ grill cover, eventually he felt safe enough on our cat tower to take a nap.

At one point I thought I saw him gazing knowingly across the 80 acres of horse pasture towards his former home. But I wasn't sure that cats could really sense which direction they came from.

Maybe it's all in the whiskers but after one day outside, he had quickly decided to get out of Dodge and showed up on his former owner's doorstep. I just don't know what it is about our family that would have frightened him so ...
