The Room next Door

One of the very interesting things about P-town is the underground tours. I took a van-load of younguns down to see all the colorful history spanning a 70 year period.

From the days of the Oregon trail, the cattle drive era, the building of the railroad, on up to the military base, speak-easy and cosy-rooms of the next century - there was alot that went on underneath this city. Most of it irreputable.

But it is fascinating - these prism blocks in the sidewalk that are transformed into soft glowing light that bends as it passes through to light the underground.

When I asked my girls to pose in the "working rooms" they were embarassed, although it didn't bother them to have the jail cell photo.

Once again I was reminded how fortunate we are to have such great kids, whose minds and hearts are far from revelry.

Until we found this on my camera the next morning!

Maybe we should re-evaluate our hands-off parenting style.
