We happen to have big grand-daddy size apple trees on our property. They have been ignored for quite awhile and hence have nearly stopped producing.
This last weekend my hubby and his partner decided it was time to take them on. This contraption was not one I had seen before. But it made the job somewhat easier.
Suckers the size of your wrist had to be cut off - they made a huge pile. One look at this and I'm sure my younguns are SO glad they don't live near this orchard anymore.
It's a jungle up there in those old apple trees.
And I know just the guy for the challenge. But in the end, they decided one day of this was enough and they will chop down 2 of the very old ones. Yes, even the one with our treehouse in it. To everything, there is a season, even tree houses.
