Leavin on a slow train

This was how much daylight we had when we pulled up to the station. You know how I love rail cars so I had to shoot a few. We knew we would be boarding one of these shortly and get to enjoy the countryside before sunset.

I also love this train depot that has been restored to its former glory. I may have to come back here in the morning sometime for someobody's photo session. Or maybe I will just drag hubby along as he is mostly a willing subject. The tall windows are really cool.

But unfortunately when we walked up to the ticket counter we knew it was gonna be one of those days for rail riders. "SOUTHBOUND train is LATE", written in red up on the schedule board. We groan and wait it out. Too bad we didn't think about calling first.

But once we got going we enjoyed the ride down to the younguns in K Falls. Since it was pitch black we couldn't see a thing out the window once we were up in the mountains. We'll have to wait for that view nn our homeward bound trip.

After several hours and lots of snacking and snoozing we finally arrive. You know what? There are lots of interesting people who ride on trains. And now we are some of them!
