SA, day 1

I think I mentioned it is springtime here, but we didn't know we came at the peak of the jacaranda tree blossoms. This purple tree is everywhere, I even spotted them from the airplane coming in. We drove by the former home of Nelson Mandela, just a mile or so from here. Dave also got to visit with the owner of the largest nursery in the southern hemisphere,  beautiful place to tour. I enjoyed reconnecting with some west coast friends who have partnered with their nursery owner husbands for about as long as me. And it was 98 degrees!
