Make Up Post

It's time to make up for all the lame posts around here lately. No discussions of farm and weather today, but speaking of weather, our weekend was blessed with mighty fine skies indeed. Our weekend in the city!

The city on the Sound, which was confirmed by my youngun son-in-law, the walking encyclopedia, to be only 1/4 the size of the big bay he just moved away from. Amazing fact.

You can tell you are visitors to the big city when you ride the ferry just for fun, not because you have to to commute to your job. Imagine getting to work while sitting in the sun with your eyes closed and being gently rocked back and forth.

And you know you are in the city when you walk into a store like this one.

where all the walls/windows are covered with these old gems,

And everything is displayed in tones of steel, gray and brown,

Even the clothing. And now I will have to attempt to knit this sweater, or convince my daughters to do it for me! It is beautifully random.

The next store was a little more colorful,

and they definitely are aware of the new color of the year,

tango tangerine is everywhere. Now I need something new in this shade.

Such great girl time.

We didn't buy one single thing, but we were totally entertained the whole day.

We did, however, manage to pull into the most expensive parking lot in the city b/c we were lost and desperate at that moment and would pay anything to just park. We really are just country bumpkins deep down in our soul and we don't know any better.

And I did manage to charge the whole weekend to my youngun and her hubby, ha! Why I arrived in this great place with only one plastic expired card in my wallet I will never fathom.

Ahh, sweet city indeed.
