The Proof is in the Sauce

Dave's bountiful garden has produced an abundance of tomatoes this year. And my eldest borrowed by tomato strainer early on in harvest season. My very old, irreplacable strainer that I have used for hundreds of jars of sauce - both the apple and the tomato variety. Then the inevitable happened and it broke. I was pretty sure my saucing days had come to an end b/c I am fairly skeptical about new-fangled devices.
When I first bought this strainer of a new design I was quite certain I would be back within a day or two with a "see, I told you so" after finding it to be utterly disappointing. But it was all they had and I was desperate for sauce. Turns out I was wrong!

It works great - better than my old device. It's easier to use and less messy.

I can use it right on my island instead of having to work outside on my old wooden picnic table.

The spiral blade easily presses out the sauce and when all that's left is seeds and skin, you just reverse the turn and it scoops it out for you! Brilliant I say.

So now we are ready for spagetti, chili, salsa, soups, etc. etc.
Happy sauce!
