Most folks would not welcome this rainy, cloudy morning with a big smile. They would think it is down-right gloomy. Especially if they went camping in a tent on this holiday weekend. But we are not most people. We plan work parties on holiday weekends and we go camping in the middle of the week.
We wait all through our long, dry summer for the familiar to come back to us. We plant a whole dry field with baby cuttings b/c we know it is almost here. And when it comes it just feels good and right, and much cheaper than turning on the pumps. Anyway, it's just one day of it - not enough to make the creek begin to run, or ruin all the holiday plans (or work parties), just enough to give the thirsty ground a big drink.
