Prep work

The concrete came last week - it was a big day and alot of concrete.
Shall we stamp our handprints in this?

This will get stamped and color dusted into it. Hopefully we will like the color but I'm not losing sleep over it. That last paint color on the right of the house made the final cut.

This dog was a wonder dog. She knew absolutely and without a doubt how much trouble she would be in if she stepped in wet concrete. So she would sit or walk right next to it but never once stepped in it, even when her owner called her from across the strip of wet cement.
This dog is not our dog.

While the concrete was curing we spent alot of time doing other prep work. Even the girls were put to work, they're filling irrigation trenches.

We (I like to use that pronoun loosely, ryan) must have dug miles of trenches. Then filled them with pipe and wires for controls. I actually participated in pushing wires through pipe.

Someone had to supervise.

Someone had to plant.

I spent alot of time watching the grass grow. Unfortunately this is pasture blend. My yard is still waiting for seed or sod. To sod or not to sod, we just can't decide.

Please ignore that weed, I should have pulled it before the photo. Even if it is the pasture.
