Road Trip!

My assignment this last week was to drive my middle kiddle all the way back to college in her great new car. She first of course had to face the grim reality that she will now be pumping her own gas. This took a little training session but she passed with flying colors. My mothering responsibilties with her are nearly done. Sniff, sniff....

You know my fascination with webcams - well here I am calling my youngest and so excited that she is viewing us on the famous geyser webcam in my sidebar. AND I am not the only crazy lady doing this, note the flag waving lady on the cell phone next to me. Why didn't I think to bring a flag, that is brilliant! Also, the algae colors in the paint pots were amazing this year.

This is my nostalgic visit to what tourists call "the faces", but there is much more to it than that. Sadly much had changed since I lived there, although Gutzy's sculptor studio was just as I
remembered it. And the new monument boardwalk with cleverly placed viewing platforms has my approval.

Lastly, I got to help set up this very spacious dorm apartment, at least it was spacious until 5 girls moved in with 69 boxes, 4 couches and 27 plastic tubs of personal goo and lotions.
