Another one!

Yes, just 2 days and 2 years apart our family is celebrating another birthday today, July 1.

Happy birthday, Geron Leigh!

How did you go from the shy toddler in the red dress (passed down through all the cousins) to being a bride this month? At least you get your own dress this time, dear middle child.

We're gonners

So we visited the alp*ca farm this week. Oh My Goodness. This was the first look we got from them. Do you get the feeling they're interested in these visitors?

We fell in love with all 22 of them and their handlers.

Here's the newborn, he's called P-boy. Each one gets a name of the alphabet in birth order, so he may become Phineas or Phillip or Percival? He's so adorable.

Jean brings him up for a closer look. Mama is pretty ornery we find out later.

He's sort of like a calf, sort of like a puppy, sort of ... irresistable.

We quickly learn the neck is sort of a handle on these guys.

Awwwww.

The others were patiently waiting to be introduced.

This might have been Beatrice.

Was this Abigail?
These 2 are teenagers, or yearlings.

And this would be the sire, thank you very much for asking.

The baby was very excited that he got to go out in the big pasture for the first time while we watched.

And as predicted he did his little happy dance for us, it's called "pronking". I thought the poor little guy would get his legs twisted together. He was so excited.

Mama wishes we would just leave now.

We learned tons of things about how to take care of our 2 boys at home.

And we're hoping that very soon they will trust us enough to eat out of our hands.

We took along a bag of those yummy pellets to work their magic.

What day is IT?

It's June 29 of course, Ashley June's birthday - many many blessings today, sweet daughter-in-law!

Anne & Leanne

I have made fast friends with this large cherry tree in my yard. She is big, beautiful and fruitful.

I picked buckets of these today.

They taste as good as they look.

These cherries are just for looking at.

These also were just out of my reach, even from the cherry basket I was in.

Can't wait to feed these to my younguns.

I have a fabulous view from up here.

Speaking of younguns, there they are now. I wonder how far I can throw such abundance of cherries at my fingertips. Actually I waited till they drove under my cherry basket.
Now all my children have bruises on their heads. Even my future son-in-law. :)
I like to make sure he feels like one of the family.

Good with numbers

It has been a fun summer so far getting to know our future son-in-law.

He has many fine qualities - skipping for example.

and gentleness for another

But one thing I particularly love is that he is very mathematic

You can ask him a numbers question any time of day

And without so much as a moment's hesitation

he can tell you

exactly how many days till the wedding

:)

Traumatic

All worries of appearance have pushed aside - these guys are terrified.

These guys are on a mission, who wouldn't be afraid?

I don't like what I'm hearing from the other side of this gate.

You don't look so baa-aad.

You, on the other hand ...

This is going to make one beautiful sweater.

Let me out of here.

These boys just need to hide out for awhile under some low hanging trees.

Feasting on Photos

Speaking of random - I don't have anything to say about these photos - I just like them.

Did I just see a kilt on a beach? Yes, you did.

This pair did not dress up for the occasion.
