Introducing...

...the newest member of our family -- "Logan" Lloyd George Morley IV. He was born Saturday evening at 6:30pm in Albany. He weighs 7lbs 10oz and has a nice round look to him -- just right. He was really at peace and quite contented when I saw him that night.
Amazing, was all I could think, and thank you Lord for this precious child. I couldn't help crying when I saw him and my daughter -- she's waited 10 years for another child, Naomi is 12. We just smiled with tears running down our faces. She's just as sentimental as I am, because we both know this one too well -- there's 14 years between her and her brothers.

And of course, we're all delighted that the birth went so well and was not overly painful -- answered prayer, of course. Thank you everyone for your prayers -- God was listening and working it out --Glory to the Father of all.

The Morley family goes home from the hospital today. Bo has been busy finishing up those loose ends at home -- to have everything lovely for his family. He has grown up so much in so many ways. We all have.

I'll have pictures to show you at Women's Retreat -- see you there! P.S. Hey, does anyone know the origin/meaning of Logan? I have the rest of the name already handled, but haven't gotten the nick name looked up yet. I bet you like their choice, Leanne :0)

It Is Good To Be Back

I am back and it sure feels good!
I hope that none of you thought that I had forgotten you or that I did not care about you. On the contrary! My kids were able to disable my internet explorer and as luck would have it my I.T guru was off in Singapore for two weeks! Talk about being thrust into the Dark Ages without my computer! Once Chris got back home, he was able to fix the problem and so I am back on line,(he didn't earn the nick-name "boy wonder" for nothing.) Why do I spend money and time on updating the lattest virus detection and spyware blockers for my computer??? My kids can hose up my computer better and faster then any worm or virus could dream of ! I will write more in a day or two but I wanted to leave you all with a verse to ponder and meditate on.

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!"

Simple. But, very profound.

Blessings,
Lorlee

My daily demise

I love that button on the blogger. Create. It's so inspiring to start something new, don't you think? To quote the famous "Anne with an E", "tomorrow is a clean slate with no mistakes in it". Thank you Lord for letting us start over every day.

Alas, most of the time the work that greets us every day is not the fun stuff of starting something new, but the daily, grinding stuff of finishing up something we have started. That's where it gets hard, and it's definitely lost all the inspiration it once had.

It's kind of like this drawer in my kitchen. Now I have to tell you that this is a very special week, my parents are coming to stay with us from Minnesota. They come every year and I always look forward to their visit but I also go into this cleaning frenzy as the ETA approaches. My family has come to understand that this is their cue to get out of the way of the white tornado. Several years ago when the folks were here, my dad opened up my "junk" drawer in my kitchen and I overheard him mumbling something about the condition of organization it represented. It contains nails, screws, old waterbed parts, broken pot handles, etc. Somewhere in that mess is some important parts that I will desperately need one day. I pretended not to notice but vowed right then and there that by the next time he came to visit I would have that drawer all cleaned up and super organized and functional.

Well, we are now within the 48 hour countdown and it's not looking good for that poor old drawer. Sigh... It's not even looking good for the countertop, which I try to clean off and organize regularly, but is really just my daily demise.

Contrast that with what God says about us: "he who began a good work in you, will be careful to complete it...". Isn't that amazing to think about. God has no unfinished projects. He doesn't get bored or distracted after starting something in our hearts and just abandon the whole idea. He doesn't just shut the drawer on our mess and pretend it isn't there. And Eph 2:8-10 says, "we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do". God's workmanship, his masterpiece - and he's going to finish us completely one day.

Well, as for Dad, I will just have to try to impress him with my brand, spankin new dishwasher rack that Dave and I put together last night. It has no rust spots or broken, plastic thingies. Of course, there's still a few leftover plastic parts laying on the counter - they must have shipped some extras. I know just where I'll keep them!
